"Uguale e contraria" is an animated short film concept based on the homonymous short story by the Italian writer Dino Buzzati. The short film narration plays with the theme of expectations, desires and fate by following the path a love letter that gets lost between streets, lilacs, cafes, and animation frames.

The project involved the creation of the concept and storyline, the characters design and the animations. The adoption of a hand-drawn aesthetic is related to the themes of writing and imagination: a love letter at the centre of the storyline, lines that form and decompose the frames through which characters and objects move. Likewise, the character design is inspired by a stylus pen, also as a homage to the italian novelist.
